PV Park and Direct Line Aperam Genk

The project of Aperam Genk is an important step towards sustainable energy production and ecological responsibility. It includes the construction of a PV park at the Bosdel site and the installation of underground direct cable connections of 16kV to the production site of Aperam located at Swinnerwijersweg. The aim of this project is to reduce CO2 emissions and produce energy for Aperam's own needs in Genk.

The PV park at the Bosdel site has an installed capacity of approximately 18.56 MWp, contributing to Aperam's sustainable energy production. The underground direct cable connections, with a total length of approximately 2.5 km, will fully utilize the solar and wind energy produced at both Aperam sites in Genk.

As Avalon L+E, we have coordinated the dossier for perpetum Energy and Aperam Genk together with our team members ARCADIS, SWECO, Stef VanLommel, and Alveba. Our joint efforts have led to the granting of the environmental permit for both the PV park on the Aperam Bosdel site and the direct line between the PV park and the production site of Aperam located at Swinnerwijersweg.

This project highlights the importance of collaboration and innovation in the search for sustainable energy solutions. We are proud of the role we have played in realizing these important initiatives and look forward to the positive impact they will have on Aperam Genk's ecological footprint.
