Elia road repair

In the case of cost effectiveness and control of road repair works following the onstruction of a 2 x 150 kV cable extenson of the heig tension grid network, we wera asked to review the design standards and there effect to the eonomic impact on the whole budget.

The targets brougth forward by the client are :

• an optimization of the implementing method for the road repair on construction-technical level
• a reduction of the implementation costs for the portion of the road recovery.

It is also the purpose of the client to through the lessons learned from this exercises to gain a better understanding of the manageability of the cost factor concerning road recovery in the totality of the construction contracting and to be able to develop a better negotiating strategy in future tenders.
