PV system with virtual PPA supply to third party

At the request of the manager of the SME Zone Saranta in Machelen, we were asked to investigate the possibilities for the profitability of the roof surfaces. To this end, it was decided to implement a rooftop PV system and renew the connection to the public grid in a single investment programme.

During the study, it also became clear that the tenants of the various SME units needed a connection to the HS 12 Kv FLUVIUS network and a higher capacity for the development of the industrial activities.

Before the implementation of the PV installation, the buildings were screened and the stability of the thinking structures and the roof skin were assessed in detail. A balance was also found between the 945 KWp capacity to be installed and the investment risk.

In order to cover the investment risk, it was decided to set up a long-term collaboration between the manager of the SME Zone and Driespoort Shopping in order to connect the PV project to the FLUVIUS network after completion of the PV project and its connection to the new transformers. This is done in the form of a Virtual PPA in which both parties cover their specific supply risks in agreement.

AVALON L+E is responsible for supporting the entire project. We investigated the feasibility of the project for our clients:

  • the connection and renewal of the internal HS and LS network of the SME zone and FLUVIUS
  • the financial feasibility and cost-benefit analysis
  • Design of the PV system
  • Design of the new torque and transformer entirely
  • Balancing production and sales opportunities
  • Preparation of the necessary environmental permits and permits
  • support in the contractual structuring between the parties.
